How to Use Sage Intelligence Report Manager?

Sage Intelligence Reporting (Sage Intelligence Report Manager) is an Excel-based reporting tool that pulls data from across your entire Sage ERP system (any module) into a single location so you can slice, dice, and analyze the numbers in a familiar spreadsheet environment. There are seven modules of Sage Intelligence Reporting: Report Manager, Report Viewer, Report Designer, Connector, Olap Module (Analysis Module), Security Manager and License Manager.

The Report Manager provides an interface to create and modify reports. Reports can be grouped into folders, and properties of reports can be reviewed and edited as necessary.

How can you get the Sage Intelligence Report Manager?

New and current Sage 100 ERP customers will receive a single-user Report Manager license for 4.5 as a support plan benefit.

➤ Author new reports (organizing, creating, editing) and filter and clone the standard report templates for management (financial reports, dashboards, financial trend analysis), as well as general ledger sales, purchases, and inventory transactional reports.

➤ Set permissions/security on all reports.

➤ Connection to one ERP company database at a time (if running two or more companies, users can redirect to relevant company connections).

The “free” version provides basic functionality. Please note the following capabilities:

➤ Optional Import/Export functionality requires the purchase of an additional Report Manager license, the Designer module, or Connector module

➤ Optional Report Scheduling requires the purchase of an additional Report Manager license, the Designer module, or Connector module

➤ Connections to other types of databases requires the purchase of a Connector module

➤ If you purchase the Report Manager license, it allows authoring of new reports from existing data containers ONLY as well as editing of existing standard reports including filtering and aggregating of data (licensed per workstation). Also supports auto-emailing reports, scheduling reports, and publishing report output to HTML for intranet/Internet.

Steps for Use the Sage Intelligence Report Manager

To access the Report Manager, you have to:

• Open the Disclosure Management report in Smart View Microsoft Office. See Connecting to Narrative Reporting in Smart View
• Open a Disclosure Management report.
• In the Disclosure Management ribbon, click check out and then select manage to open the Report Manager.

There are several important buttons on the Report Manager’s ribbon (on the top of the screen) as well as the shortcut menu which is also called the right-click menu. Additionally, there are several other tabs which allows you access to more extensive options. For instance, if you go to the Tools tab, there are options available to export and import reports as well as run all the reports in a folder. And, from the Help tab, you can open the help file, connect to the online academy or the Knowledgebase.

Run Sample	Used to run a report using only a sample of the data. This is specifically useful to design and test reports that are data sensitive
Check/Test	Used this to check if a report satisfies minimum requirements to function correctly. Minimum requirements include that one column be selected and that if a template has been assigned to a report, that report exists
History	Shows a Report’s run history
Import Report	Enables the import of reports previously ported from other Sage Intelligence Reporting Systems
Export Report	Enables the export of reports for import to other Sage Intelligence Reporting Systems
Output Mode	Enables the output of a report to be sent to the screen instead of MS Excel for debugging purposes
Toggle Hidden Reports	Enables hidden reports to be seen
Generate Scheduler Command	Generates the command to run the report unattended
Bulk Import/Export	Enables the bulk import of new reports or updating reports
Run All Reports	Used to run all the reports in the selected folder from top to bottom
Clean Pivot Fields	Used to open a template and remove all currently unused pivot field pivot items
Clear Report History	Permanently erase the instance history of the report
System Variables	Shows the available system variables
Unlock Microsoft Excel	At times, some unexpected errors can cause Microsoft Excel to get locked. This option unlocks the MS Excel file and allows access
Help	Launches the Help files
