- Protected Files of operating System:
- Go to Tools, then Folder Options followed by View Tab and then clicking on Hide Protected Operating System Files to deselect it ending with Apply and OK tab options.
- Hidden Files and Folder:
- Now locate and right click mouse over config.msi folder followed by selecting Rename option.
- In the new space add .old after the name of the file and then enter button. This should name the file as config.msi.old.
- Now to end the process hide both of the Hidden files & folders as well as the Protected Operating System files by following steps:

Once the resolution is complete and renaming has been done successfully, try to perform update, repair, uninstall or install process.
