How does the Accountant’s copy Feature work in QB Pro or Premier 2015?
In QuickBooks Pro or Premier 2015, a client can set a date that divides past and current periods. He can then create and transfer an Accountant’s Copy (.QBX) to the accountants. The client continues to work on their QB file but is restricted from altering the past period. You can obtain the Accountant’s Copy from the client, and then can convert it to a working Accountant’s Copy (.QBA).
You can either add or adjust all sales, banking, vendor and customer transactions and carry out bank reconciliations. Moreover, you can merge and adjust the Chart of Accounts (CoA). However, there are certain restrictions in what you are allowed to edit. You are not allowed to edit transactions during the current period, but you can add transactions. After you have finished doing the changes, you can review them, add a new client note and can export the changes (.QBY). Your client can also review the changes and can import them into their working QB copy automatically. After importing, the dividing date can be removed.
